Randy Reese has been coaching
swimming for the past 34 years. He started his career in
Clearwater then moved to the Bolles School, Episcopal High School /
Randy Reese Swim Team, and then to University of Florida where he
coached the Men’s and Women’s teams to two National
Championships each (Men 1983 & 1984) (Women 1979 &
1982). He has over 14 National Championships for his age group
teams. Most recently the Longhorn Aquatics team where he was head
coach has been ranked the number one club team in the country for
the past three years by USA Swimming Club of Excellence
program.
Coach Reese has personally led over 41 Olympic swimmers to
a combined total of 18 Gold medals, 8 Silver and 9
Bronze. He has coached 6 swimmers who achieved 16 world
records and led 79 Women to achieve over 500 All-American honors
and 60 men reach 200 All-American honors.

Alex Steger

Alex Steger started coaching in 1996 in
St. Louis, MO, which is where he also grew up and went to
college. He coached there for six years at the Bridgeton Swim
Club and HEAT Swimming at first as an assistant coach and later as
a head coach. After graduating from the University of
Missouri – St. Louis he moved to North Carolina where he
lived for almost five years. The first four years was spent
as an assistant coach at the Mecklenburg Aquatic Club (Gold Medal
Club) and the last part was at the Marlins of Raleigh (Silver Medal
Club) as the head site coach for the north location. After
leaving Carolina, he moved to Portland, OR for two and half years
to coach with the Tualatin Hills Thunderbolts (Silver Medal Club)
as the head assistant coach. In his last stop before coming
to Clearwater, he spent fifteen months coaching with the
Men’s Team at the University of Texas at
Austin.

Steve Wilson

Coach Steve Wilson started his coaching
career with the Blue Dolphins and Winter Park High School in Winter
Park, Florida. Right away his teams had success when they won
back to back state championships in 1992 and 1993 with both the
men’s and women’s teams.
When he
left Florida he moved to Kingwood, TX to coach Blue Tide
Aquatics. While at Blue Tide, Coach Wilson’s swimming
not only did great on the local level but succeeded on the national
level as well. His team won Junior Nationals in 2003 and 2004
along with winning the Texas state championships in 2002 (SC and
LC) and 2006 (SC). Many of his swimmers went on to be state
champions and Gulf record holders along with qualifying for
Juniors, Nationals, and Olympic Trials. Additionally, his
swimmers still hold seven National Age Group Records.
After
leaving Blue Tide, Coach Wilson moved back to Florida to pursue
other business opportunities along with coaching part-time at CAT.
We are very excited to have someone of his caliber coaching our
swimmers so they can develop and learn from him.

years.

Tiger Christian

Coach Tiger Christian comes to Clearwater with 20 years of swimming
experience. Before moving to Florida, he spent a few months
coaching the East Texas Swim Team (ETEX) in Nacogdoches, TX,
which is his home town. Tiger grew up and lived there until
he was 19 years old. Additionally, while he was in high
school he would also live with his grandparents in the summer to
train with ATAC in Dallas, TX.
After finishing high
school he enrolled at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas
(UNLV). Besides taking classes, he swam on the varsity swim
team for UNLV. Tiger helped the Rebels win three Mountain West
Conference team championships and won individual conference titles
in the 100 and 200 Back, 200 and 400 Medley Relay, and 200 Free
Relay in 2008.
Along with coaching
for CAT, he continues to swim competitively with the Senior group
and hopes to qualify and place at Nationals this summer in Irvine,
CA.
